Great Grandpa bought a foldable kayak at a military auction in the 1950s, the family had lots of hunting and fishing adventures on it, but when I saw it however it was in horrible shape.
I figured it would be a good project to restore so first I separated the parts into piles.
It appears to be #413, I do not know what this number represents most likely production number
Then I assembled what I had to see if anything was missing.
I noticed the gunwales and a dowel were missing.
The canvas is torn in many places and zippers seem to be falling apart even thought they still can function somewhat
when I tried repairing the canvas it would tear as I sewed the fibers seem to be too weak to just repair so I began to sew a new one (to be continued)
